Hello and Welcome, Seems I’ve been asked a lot lately if men come to my practice. I laugh and say “Sure, and some of them even come in on their own free will.” Seriously, I’m an equal opportunity organ-whisperer and some of my greatest success stories have been with men. I am fortunate to see just about as many male clients as female clients. Here I choose the words male and female over men and women because I see babies, young children and teen-agers too. My youngest client was 3 weeks old and my oldest, a beautiful senior of 88. The biggest difference between male and female clients is where they hold their stress. Women tend to push stress, anger and anxiety down to the abdomen which is why we see more Irritable Bowel Syndrome -related disorders in women. Men tend to push these emotions down to the heart level which is why more men suffer heart attacks, outbursts of temper, and road rage. I often hear the tired cliché that men are afraid to seek guidance from a professional; that they won’t see a doctor; that they’re too stubborn and proud to change. Not true here. I’m fascinated by the men that come to see me. These men almost always come ready to move their stuff, physically and emotionally. They are seeking a new level of growth and are ready to participate and engage in making a shift happen. It takes great strength to be vulnerable enough to change, and I have some very brave guys as clients. Often men come to my practice after having tried other healing modalities, from traditional western medicine to homeopathic treatment, and even surgeries. My work does not replace these modalities, but helps the client to make the body/mind connection necessary to heal. One client recently shared that the onslaught of emotions he had been dealing with for years was a part of his physical issues. Old thought patterns from verbal and physical abuse long ago were stifling his growth. Emotions had kept his physical body in bondage. After just a few sessions he didn’t have to share his story of improvement, because it was obvious. He is more buoyant, lighter, energetic and even looks younger! And many men come to me for work on old sports injuries, adhesions from surgeries, digestive issues such as constipation or seizing stomach, immune system disorders and male infertility. If you know of any men who could benefit from this work, please give them a gentle nudge toward booking an appointment. Let’s get them happy, healthy and harmonious. ![]() Testimony: I asked my 8 year old client what benefits has he noticed with coming into Tune Up Tuesdays weekly? He shared: "I'm much more calm and less easy to make angry ." Well-Being Brilliant!
I’d like to bring awareness to this beautiful method of Western medicine called Osteopathy Medicine. Medical Daily News Today says “Osteopathy is a form of drug-free, non-invasive manual medicine that focuses on total body health by treating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework, which includes the joints, muscles and spine. Its aim is to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems. This therapy is a unique holistic (whole body) approach to health care. Osteopaths do not simply concentrate on treating the problem area, but use manual techniques to balance all the systems of the body, to provide overall good health and wellbeing.” For more details regarding Osteopathic Medicine good, see Meehan Christ’s article in Prevention: http://www.prevention.com/health/osteopathic-doctors
