Hello, I hope your new year got off to an incredible start! My client consensus is that it’s been a bumpy start! I can't help but think of all those airplane flights when the pilot informs us in that low, assuring voice, "Please buckle your seatbelts, folks it's going to be a bumpy ride.” Well, thank goodness we have the Chinese New Year to celebrate—(more than a billion people do, worldwide). It’s another chance to start fresh! 2016 celebrates The Year of the Fire Monkey, that quick-witted, curious, innovative and mischievous creature who appeals to our sense of play. The quick-witted, curious and innovative aspects of the Monkey, and admittedly a wee bit of the mischievous part, calls to mind all of the beautiful children that have been coming to my studio for sessions lately. I've always loved working with children and have done so in some capacity or another for over twenty years. I’ve been a nanny to a few, auntie to many with being a nanny, and Godmother to two of the most precious creatures ever born. Recently though, I've experienced magic with some of the kids that have come in. There is an immediate connection that's so playful, heartfelt and beautiful that it has been a powerful healing for the both of us! No walls, no facades, no calculations, just connection...as if I've known them for years and we need no formalities to get started; trust is immediate and total. These kids have opened in me a portal to my youth, and mirrored back to me what I always yearned to be when I was young, how I longed to see myself. I see in them a perfect being, and celebrate their intelligence, their ability to laugh and cry- to be truthful, direct and real, and so honest in their unabashed desire to receive love, and to accept the healing without hesitation. Needless to say, they receive the treatments so well because their body, mind and stories (core beliefs, life perspective) are not yet emotionally or physically hardwired into patterns. So open are they that 15 minutes for them usually does the trick! Helping them to eliminate what could be a pattern that sets them up for mental, physical or emotional disharmony down the line feels incredibly rewarding. It feels as if together, we are setting up the planet’s future for an experience of greater hope, ease, and acceptance starting with one little belly at a time. The parents have often shared with me that once they're home their child will ask, "Will you do what that lady did to my belly?” It brings me so much joy to usher in such grace, and to be a steward of these incredible beings! Teenagers are another story. I love working with them too, although they're not as easy to charm and often have a little—or a lot—of resistance. I’m told they often ask their parents, “What is that lady going to do to me?” Bwaaa-Ha-Ha! So thank you parents, for bringing in your bundles of joy. I'm so grateful and I commend you for letting them experience the benefits of my work. Happy Chinese New Year! Copyright © 2016 Jada Delaney CMT, All rights reserved.
